Where we went on Spring Break

In case you couldn't tell, we went to the Jelly Belly factory in Fairfield.  The weather was awful, but we figured we'd be inside for the tour, so it wouldn't matter.

When we got there, there was an incredibly long line, all the way out the door. We asked the person handing out jelly bellys to the crowd how long it would be, and she said 90 minutes! We went inside to just go to the gift shop, and we found the line snaking around inside there too.

We decided that we'd go on up to where Nut Tree was, and come back here later. There was
nothing left of the old place, so we had lunch and headed back down the highway. It was still
incredibly crowded, and it was pouring down rain, so we went over to the Budweiser factory,
took the tour there, and then came back. Finally, the line was sane, so we got to take the tour.

Inside the factory, there are giant "paintings" made with the beans! And because it was the governor president who made them famous, much of the artwork is of him.

The candy company has been around for over a hundred years, and was first famous for making candy corn. So there is a tribute to the original candy there too. They are also promoting a new mystery flavor, for the public to name. So there are lots of giant question marks everywhere. There is Ana, wearing her bean hat, looking at all the stuff hanging from the ceiling.

There were bean cars in the driveway, and bean trucks in the parking lot.

There was beautiful landscaping, and even a dog run, complete with hydrant. This is really a wonderful place to bring the family, but not on spring break!

Good thing it worked out anyway.
