Happy Holidays!

Our pomegranate & bay wreath greets you as you come to our front door. The new silver-and-blue mezuzah blends into the blue of the doorframe.

Chanukah came early this month. While celebrating the Season, the gals also celebrated the new home and dedicated it with a new mezuzah, accompanied by a Chanukat haBait, (dedication of the house, or) a mezuzah-hanging party!

This is a beautiful one made in Israel by a famed silversmith. It has an image of a deer on the water.  "As the deer pants for water so my soul pants after you."  I think it's somewhere in Isaiah, but I know it's a song as well.

Nearly 20 people came for the celebration and food.

  Charlie hammers while Ana assists.

Inside, on the eighth night of Hanukah, the candles are burning down to the last.  Dreidels will have to wait until next year for the kids to play with them. The gelt in the glass on the right will need to be eaten!

And even to the end, the flames burn strong and bright!

A stroll thru downtown Los Gatos reveals lots of holiday lights.

The old Opera House, which is now an antique shop, is ablaze with holiday lumination.

And across the street from where Ana works, someone has a more tropical holiday light display. You can't see them, but there are tikis in the yard next to the Santa luminary.

For the third choir season, Ana sang with the HP Choir (back row, fourth from right). This year's music included another Latin song, "Exultate Deo," Steve Allen's "Cool Yule" (a very fun Jazz piece where HP Symphony trumpeters and bass joined us), our very own director's adaptation of "Sleigh Ride," and a number of religious holiday tunes. Friends from the theatre came on the fourth and final performance, and joined the gals for pizza to celebrate afterward.

Joyce joined her dad for Christmas week, and spent her 2nd week of school break with mom. They went to some after-Christmas sales, went to the Monterey Bay Aquarium, and saw the new movie, Phantom of the Opera which was fantastic!

And then they ended the year as they usually do, attending the Annual New Years Eve Talent Show at their Congregation.
